I bought this camera because it was waterproof and I could fit it in the pocket of my wetsuit, but on one of the first trips I took it on I slipped while hiking and landed right on my butt with this thing in my back pocket. I was bummed because it wasn't waterproof anymore, but after a couple months on the shelf I realized I could just scrap the re-waterproofing idea and convert it to a pocket IR camera. It shoots RAW photos which can be hard to find on these point and shoots, but it's pretty mandatory for IR when it comes to channel swaps and extraordinarily wide ranges of white balance you might need to bring a photo back to this planet.
This is what I brought along on my recent trip to Brazil and photographed a majority of the Paint Peelers series on.
Full Spectrum Nikon d3100
A couple years ago I was determined to photograph some familiar Utah landscapes in infrared, so I attempted a last minute conversion in the hotel on my way there. Unfortunately, I failed, and locked the shutter on my first dslr ever (Nikon D3200). Luckily I was able to get my hands on an inexpensive D3100 that I then converted and started my IR journey on.
